ANFORA

The name is a reference to the clay vessels (Amphorae) used to store and transport wine in ancient Greece and Rome. There is a resurgence of anfora aging among some winemakers, and the list features great examples of these wines.

Please visit us and try our terrific beer selection, a full liquor bar, house cocktails, and a menu of flavorful bar snacks, salads, sandwiches, charcuterie and cheeses.

ANFORA BEVERAGE CLASS SERIES 2018!

Saturday, November 10th
3:00pm-4:45pm
$75 per person

The region of Beaujolais has always been considered part of greater Burgundy, often regelated to playing second fiddle to its sister to the north and pinot noir for centuries. In the late twentieth century, a group of winemakers reacted to the over-manipulation in the cellar and breathed new life into the region. They sang the praises of Beaujolais’ Crus and single vineyards, as well as the great potential of gamay, and forged a lasting impression on natural winemaking. Now, especially for those in the industry and in-the-know, Beaujolais Cru wine is easily still the somm’s choice for value and quality.

This November 10th, Anfora’s Kristin Ma will be revisiting the natural traditions of these hailed winemakers and introducing you to Beaujolais’ younger generation of producers who now carry the torch of producing excellent, natural renditions of Beaujolais Cru. You will have the opportunity to taste wines from each of the 10 Crus, showcasing the personality and complexity of each.

Tickets are all inclusive. Must be 21+. All ticket sales are final.
