ANFORA

The name is a reference to the clay vessels (Amphorae) used to store and transport wine in ancient Greece and Rome. There is a resurgence of anfora aging among some winemakers, and the list features great examples of these wines.

Please visit us and try our terrific beer selection, a full liquor bar, house cocktails, and a menu of flavorful bar snacks, salads, sandwiches, charcuterie and cheeses.

ANFORA BEVERAGE CLASS SERIES 2018!

Saturday, September 15th
3:15pm-4:45pm
$65 per person

From Homer’s Iliad & Odyssey to Dionysus, the Greek god of wine who appears in legends across every region of Greece, wine's importance in Ancient Greece is unmistakable. Yet despite Greece’s illustrious wine history, its modern industry has largely fallen into obscurity, being pulled in multiple directions by international trends of overly oaked red wine and replanting of old vineyards to accommodate celebrity grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon.

On September 15th, Aris of Eklektikon – a natural wine importer – and Kristin Ma of Anfora will revisit Greece’s ancient winemaking tradition in a new context: they’ll showcase indigenous Greek varieties and producers using natural winemaking techniques redolent of ancient times. Join us for an exciting line-up of terroir-driven Greek white, orange and red wines paired with small Mediterranean inspired bites.

Tickets are all inclusive. Must be 21+. All ticket sales are final.
